ABOUT ALEXANDRA (CONSULTANT)

Alexandra is an award winning human-centred design leader with over 20 years’ experience in both the public and private sectors. She has worked with federal, state and local governments, and with not-for-profit and private sector companies.

Her work has improved (among other things):

  • The experience of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people in the Queensland child protection system.
  • Victorian transport services including the design of stations, precincts, train, tram and bus experiences.
  • The ability of the Australian Public Service to deliver great policy advice.
  • Access to accommodation for key workers in regional Victoria.

Alexandra is an expert in using design and systems thinking techniques to help create outcomes that meet the needs of multiple stakeholders and can be successfully delivered within constraints. See the case studies section for examples of previous work, or the blog for her musings on all things human-centred design.

HOW ALEXANDRA CAN HELP

Workshops

Never underestimate the power of getting people in a room together to talk it out. Alexandra has facilitated hundreds of workshops bringing together varied stakeholder groups to address a range of complex challenges. She’s an experienced facilitator who knows how to hold a room, with an extensive toolkit of techniques and approaches to make sure you get what you need out of each session.

Sounding board

Ever wished to have someone in your corner, who isn’t part of the politics, but will listen and bounce ideas around and share their thoughts to help you clarify your own? This is one of Alexandra’s favourite things to do, and she’s well placed to deliver value with her vast experience of challenges at all scales across many industries.

Delivering projects

Sometimes you just need someone else to do the work. Alexandra was a project manager before she was a designer, and she knows how to deliver. Her specialty is using design and systems thinking techniques to help create services that meet the needs of your many stakeholders, and can be successfully delivered within constraints.

Coaching & mentoring

Alexandra has years of experience developing individuals and building team capabilities in the practice, methods and mindsets of design. Design is more an apprenticeship than a degree, so this works best in practice; either tackling a project together or catching up regularly as you work through your day-to-day challenges.

Writing

You may have noticed Alexandra has a second life as an author. Her ability with words transfers across to the consulting space, and she can help you craft what you’re trying to say to suit the audience and format.
